Thank you for taking one minute off Spotify and admiring Eurovision's winner and hot god. I appreciate it.
I will get straight to the point this time.
What do you forget? Moisturizer.
I can feel you rolling your eyes. “Hun, moisturizer is not part of the makeup routine, it's part of the skincare routine.”
And I have to say, loud and clear for the people in the back “IF YOUR SKIN IS UNHEALTHY, HOW WILL MAKEUP LOOK GOOD ON IT?"
If your skin is not at its best, your makeup will look cakey, pastey, and really badly applied. Even our queen and savior Nikkie Tutorials has the best skin ever on this planet. True, her mom has a clinic that specializes in skincare. But the final result is that her bare forehead is brighter than my future. If her skin was not well taken care of, I am sure that she could not work her magic as she does now.
Moisture is key.
It is necessary, obligatory, and an absolutely-must that a moisturizer should be worn before applying foundation.
According to the site of Harvard Medical School Harvard Health Publishing Moisturizers “supply a little bit of water to the skin and contain a greasy substance that holds it in.” Simply put, moisturizers do not add a great deal of moisture to the skin. On the contrary, they practically lock the moisture emitting from it, creating a barrier between the skin and the makeup. In this way, makeup particles do not get absorbed, making the makeup last longer and ensure skin without pigmentation. The added moisture also removes dullness and instantly improves the makeup look. In addition, the University of Tenessee adds that a moisturizer helps reduce skin problems such as extreme dryness and extreme oiliness. Both of these conditions harmful as they may lead to acne.
Moisture should also not be limited to the face. People should apply moisturizers to their lips, to their hands, and to the neck as well. In fact, all bodies should be well-moisturized, especially after a scorching bath. Hot water rips the water particles from your body. Be sure to cover yourself with moisturizing cream before leaving the bathroom. Your body needs it more than the towel.
But as it comes to the makeup routine, a lot of you may wonder about the primers. Primers are advertised as a base to be applied before foundation, making the skin less bumpy, and covering dullness. In the light of the 2021 makeup, where lip gloss, natural eyebrows, and no-makeup foundation are in, primers are a must. However, primers are not equal to moisturizers. Primers belong strictly to the makeup routine, and it is not part of the skincare. In more detail, makeup primers were developed by scientists inspired by the PAINT primers. In other words, they smooth the surface, cover imperfections, and make the final application (either paint or, makeup) better. Primers do not offer moisture as it is simply an extra layer that makes the foundation easily applicable. There are many types, some silicone-based and some water-based. People are advised to pick one based on the foundation they are using. If they are using a water-based foundation, a water-based primer is to be selected. If the silicone foundation is used, respectively, a silicone-based primer is to be applied.
Some what we think are must have primers!!
Nevertheless, the moisturizer should suit your skin type and not the foundation. Customers are advised to pick one that offers good hydration and does not cause irritation. It is advisable, people contact a dermatologist that will advise them on the best product suitable for their skin. In short, great care should be devoted to selecting a moisturizer as the wrong choice can severely impact the skin. Choose wisely. Here is our top 2 best moisturisers!

One more thing: moisturizer is not tied to either gender, orientation, or even makeup application. Everyone should wear a moisturizer as it helps the skin cells remain young and healthy. Skin is the biggest organ of the human body. As long as we all have it, we all should take care of it.
