If there's anything we all chase in this life, no matter where we come from or who we are, it is to be happy. Everybody wants to be happy, and i'm here to tell you it's not as hard as you think. People have adapted a “i will be happy when…” mindset, I will be happy when I get the job that I want, I will be happy when I lose the weight, I will be happy if she texts me back etc. The only way to truly transform your life into a happy one is to understand that your happiness is not dependent on outside circumstances or what happens to you, but instead it is all in your power and perspective.
I’ve recently stopped letting outside circumstances dictate my happiness. I get into an argument with my friend and instead of letting that put me down or make me upset, I focus on the moment in the present and make it into a happy one, and it works every single time and you can do it too! The way you fill your time and the things you chose to do to make yourself happy is a form of self love and self care. Whenever you need to uplift your mood instantly watch your favorite tv show, spend time with friends, journal, spend time outside, go out and make new friends, and do whatever it is you need to and watch how your mood will instantly be lifted! Here are 5 things proven to make you happier:
1. Spend time with friends and family
The number one happy pill psychology suggests is time around friends and family and that's no surprise. If you find yourself feeling down, spend a night with your closest girl friends and spill the tea and watch tiktoks for hours and nothing will feel better. Gather all your guy friends and play a game of Cards against Humanity or Hot Seat (both are best selling and popular card games of the year) and watch how hard you’ll all be laughing the entire night.
2. Retail therapy
The second suggestion is one of my favorites tbh since nothing makes me feel better than buying a bomb outfit and feeling myself, knowing I look like an absolute baddie. Go out and buy yourself things that make you feel confident and gets people complimenting you left and right, because let's be honest nothings a greater serotonin booster than being showered in compliments and knowing you look good. A great place to start would be to buy the Reosse tiktok leggings everyones talking about, you’ll have guys following you around everywhere you go. seriously. They make your bum look WOW.
3. Exercise
Exercise is proven to release negative feelings and instantly uplift your mood, while also working on your body. Hot girl summer's right around the corner so what better than a workout session to get you feeling better mentally and physically. Get yourself some FRETREE Resistance Bands (anti-slip and durable high quality exercise bands) and start putting in time for stretching, yoga, strength training and much more!
4. Gratitude
Having a gratitude journal has been one of the top proven things to get you feeling happier everyday. Jotting down three things you're grateful for every morning or at night before you sleep is said to widen your perspective on your life and appreciating what you have to be thankful for, ultimately making you happier.
5. Travel
The final happy pill of the day is travelling! Visiting new cultures and seeing new people and indulging into a whole new world will make you gain a new perspective on life and find happiness in new places than what you're used to.
