It is said that life is better in groups of two.

Living far away from your family and home is difficult and it sometimes gets boring and lonely but having a good roommate could make you feel like having a family away from home.

Are you having trouble having those small talks? Could not think of a fun activity for both of you to enjoy together?

Following are a few must-try things that you and your roommate should do:

1. Playing some interactive games:

It is important to break the ice while getting to know someone. A nice evening with a couple of beers and games could be the ideal ice breaker. By indulging in this fun activity you get to know what kind of a person your roommate is. A good way to spend an evening getting to know about mutual interests.

I am sharing with you guys two sure-shot fun games that you can explore and play with your roommate/s.

THESE ARE MUST HAVES!

2. Make dinner together:

Gossiping during cooking is the best. Explore each other's taste buds and cooking skills. Try and experiment any which way because ps it is your kitchen now. Also you are most likely going to be from different countries so don't hesitate to explore new cuisines!

3. Have a movie or a series night:

Pick up your favourite series and/or movies to watch and binge-watch those with your new partner in crime. Get some popcorn and snacks of your choice and voila you get a perfect weekend.

4. Explore your city and its events:

The best kind of activity to do is to explore the city you live in together. From visiting new restaurants and cozy cafes to the events happening in and around the city. Try shopping together as well as it is fun and you get a valid opinion.

5. Celebrate festivals together:

Alone and away from the family it is always hard to celebrate or even get into the festive vibes. Even if you and your roommate share different religions and traditions, celebrate together and make the other person a part of it. You should never miss an opportunity to celebrate as it brings the kind of energy and motivation that nothing else does.

Tip: Not only festivals are the occasion to celebrate but anything as small as a good interview is worth a cheers!!

These are a few sure ways tried and experimented by me and I know many more that can help a person to become friends first and then roommates. Let me know your experiences.

Best regards

Lekha.
