Do you remember your mother chasing you around the table with a glass of orange juice in her hand forcing you to drink it? Yes, by that time you were too young, probably ignoring the importance of Vitamin C in your life! This vitamin is responsible for boosting your immune system and can also improve the look of your skin and make you look younger. I know you will need it in a few years as I will, so make sure you know that Vitamin C is your ‘’best ally’’ in your never-ending fight with time and wrinkles.

As you grow up you can see the very first marks of aging since the early 30’s. Our body and skin always find their way of fighting back but you have to help as well. Our skin has the natural talent of keeping ascorbic acid which is derived from Vitamin C. But be careful, you are about to lose all these vitamins your body has learned keeping once you get exposed to the sun because summer is coming and I am sure you want to look tanned like some Latina star.

You can use it all year long but the best time is before summer premiere when usually your body and skin look dehydrated or at least 10 days before a special event where you want to look glowing and fabulous!

So, you wanna know what Vitamin C can do to your body? Read along!

1. It can reduce the risk from a chronic disease such as heart disease as it is an antioxidant and can help you build a wall of your immune system. It can also control factors like HDL, triglyceride and cholesterol levels. I definitely don't mean that you won’t ever catch a cold but you will definitely recover much faster.

2. It can improve your memory because of its neurotransmitter synthesis, especially since you are now getting older each and every year more quickly than the previous one since you stepped in your 30's (at least I know this way).

3. Vitamin C helps your body produce collagen (if you don’t want to buy it ready from the pharmacy), a protein playing a very important role in connective tissues of skin, hair and nails.

4. It helps manage high blood pressure which actually is the main risk factor for heart disease but no one knows for sure if these effects are long term.

5. It helps improve iron preservation in your system. Iron is a nutrient much more important than others and has a large variety of functions in our body so it is essential for Vitamin C to exist in order to transport oxygen and produce red cells.

6. It can help prevent vision loss and sometimes even treat cataracts and degeneration which sometimes lead to vision problems for older people.

As you can imagine it can also help in many malignant conditions like certain forms of cancer. Benefits are also a lot especially when it comes to wound healing, cardiovascular health, anemia and diabetes.

So next time you are about to eat some chocolate ice cream I know you will think of kilos and of course the beach but think again. Replace it with fruits and vegetables like green peppers, oranges, grapefruit, strawberries, spinach and tomatoes as they are all good sources of Vitamin C. Supplements and powder are also a generous source of Vitamin C as it can be easily absorbed by our body through pills and of course if you are not afraid of needles you can try Vitamin C injections (Hell no for me).

See Vitamin C is a very crucial one for many body functions especially for its antioxidant activity as it can protect you organism from inflammation and lower the risk of developing many diseases in the future. All research has shown that it can help in the development of almost every small tissue of your body so yes I am afraid that it must be an integral procedure of your daily routine.

And watch out because maybe you are not getting enough of this sh**.

-You can develop Vitamin C deficiency if you are on a non healthy diet so you definitely have to apply professional serum to replace what you are missing.

-If you are a smoker compared to the non smoker ones.

-You may need greater quantities of Vitan if you have diabetes type 2.

-Some cancer treatments may lead your Vitamin C to lower levels.

-Gastroesophageal problems.
